Bradley D. (Brad) Wiens, C.H.A., Senior Vice President

Bradley D. (Brad) Wiens, C.H.A., Senior Vice President, Development and Acquisitions, has a solid and experienced history in all facets of hotel operations and management. He has evolved in his career from operating hotels to structuring ownership positioning for new development and then overseeing the development and eventual opening of hotels.
Brad's responsibilities include site identification, land acquisition, new project administration including governmental approvals, franchise applications and approvals, architectural design administration, construction contract negotiation with general contractors, and construction management from groundbreaking through opening. He also supervises the interior design process and manages True North's purchasing department; and is responsible for construction loan administration and investor relations.
Brad was born with the hospitality bug in his system. He began his lodging career while in high school as a Front Desk Associate with the Overland Park, Kansas, Best Western Hotel. For the next 13 years he worked outside the family business, serving in various management positions with Intercontinental Hotel Group, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Residence Inn by Marriott and Extended Stay America, serving as General Manager for seven years. It was during this time that he procured his Certified Hotel Administrator (C.H.A.) designation.
In 1999, Brad joined True North Hotel Group as Opening General Manager for the then under-construction Microtel Inn in Overland Park, Kansas. Shortly after opening, he was also named General Manager of the Independence, Missouri, Comfort Inn. In 2003, he assumed the additional duties as Asset Manager for several properties within the True North portfolio and became an officer in the company. He moved into the development arena in 2004.
Brad has served on the Board of Directors for the Overland Park Convention and Visitor's Bureau, is a licensed real estate agent in the State of Kansas, and assists with fundraising efforts for the hearing impaired through Sertoma International. He also coaches youth sports team and donates time to various charities.
